Compensation Lawyers

Ask Questions before Hiring a Compensation Lawyer

Your compensation lawyer may work on a “no win no fee” basis. Basically it means that in case you lose the case then you will not have to pay any legal fees to your lawyer. Hiring such a lawyer is good because you can now investigate the claim without worrying about paying the legal fees until you win the claim.

The issue arises when you do not know the fine print. A “no win no fee” policy means that in case you lose the case you don’t have to pay the lawyers fee. However, there are many other costs that are involved that you will have to pay to your law firm during a claim.

These costs can be expenses incurred in paperwork such as faxes, photocopying, report fees and court filing fees. Asking your lawyer about what is included in the “no win no fee” policy is a good idea. Make sure you have all of this in writing.

First consultation fee

Choosing a compensation lawyer is definitely a big task. However, searching for lawyers who offer free first consultation is not the way to go. Lawyers do this to attract potential customers.

Once you have had your first free consultation with a lawyer you are in no way obligated to hire the same lawyer. You can continue your search for a good lawyer or else finalise another one. The idea is to find someone who shares your understanding regarding the case and will do his best to win the claim for you.
